No problem, just start on that essay that's due the next week and you'll be vacuuming in no time! An important exam the day after tomorrow? Laundry — done. Should really be getting started on that presentation — garbage sorted for recycling. Failed an important exam and need to study to re-take it? Well you get the picture.

This method works for pretty much anything.

I recently visited home and going throgh some of my old stuff I found an old Pez Dispenser. Today, I went to the store and got some Pez. I had forgotten how awesome they are. I didn't even think that you could still get them so easliy but I guess when you've been around for 80-odd years, you aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

New Directions

The format of this blog is going to change. It's not going to be just a photoblog anymore. From now on the udpates can contain basically anything. Including (but not limited to) random thoughts, quotes, music, links, videos, photos by others etc. Stuff I feel like sharing. Hopefully this will mean more frequent updates but I'm not promising anything. There's still not going to be a schedule. From now on there could even be severeal updates in a day but, being familiar with myself, there will probably also be long intervals between updates.

Forgot all about this blog for a while. It's not at all like I've been too lazy to update. But I'm here now aren't I? As if anyone reads this anyhow. I've been doing this blog for me and me only from the get-go anyway, so all the voices in my head can quit their whining now. I got into the university of Oulu to study English and i'm starting this fall. I'm also finally moving to a new apartment in a couple of months. This fall's gonna be sweet! Now there was six months of my life I'll never get back. And for what purpose? My loathing of "The System", authority and Finnish defence forces is stronger than ever. And if I'm a professionally trained soldier, oh boy are we fucked. Now that I'm finally free, I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to do next. I've got no job, no school to attend to and no life, once again. At least I get to sleep as much as I like.

On a more positive note, Christmas holidays were great fun as always, especially New Years Eve. We got drunk of our minds with bunch of my closest friends in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. Just like some cheesy horror movie, without all the killing. Although, how awesome would've it been, if we'd been attacked by some neo-Nazi-zombies or something.

Been in the army, having a weekend off. Being in the army fuckin' sucks. I'm a pacifist. Don't care so much about killing people or defending my country. Can't say i'm that much of a patriot, really. Might go to war for independet Lapland though. But half a year in the army is the easiest option for fulfilling the conscription. And civilian service is for pussies anyway. So i've been busy larping in the woods of sodankylä (Village of war, how ironic is that?) and i've mostly spent my vacations drunk so i haven't had the time to blag so much. I've taken pictures though. I even got a new lens for my camera (50mm f/1.8 Nikkor) a while ago.

Well, actually, there were no sunset 'cos midsummer's so near already. I went to the movies to see the new Terminator flick today and after that we went to a friends place and watched the first Terminator. After that I was going to go home to watch T2 - Judgement day, but decided I had seen enough Terminators for one night and took a scenic route to home instead. I just rode around beach and docks with my fixie and took a few pictures. The weather made it feel like excersizing in a rain forest and I inhaled large amounts of water which made me breathe like James Gandolfini by the time I got back home. It was great fun nevertheless and I got a few good pictures also.

It's 8 am in the morning. I had to wake up early to wash my clothes. Damn that washroom booking list. So I'm sitting here drinking my coffee, listening to DJBB and fiddling with the knobs in photoshop wishing that my PC won't crash and give me the BSOD this time. Oh, awesome, there's Happy Days on tv!
Where was I? Oh right, nowhere. I'll be done with washing my clothes in a sec and i'll have to get to work in half an hour so I think i'm done here.
Last sunday was the hottest day of the summer so far but 'cause this is Oulu, there was the also the fucking cold wind, of course. Nevertheless, I had fun just hanging around parks. Wearing my wifebeater, of course.

It's been a while, again. Guess I'm still lazy as fuck. Anyways, last weekend was May Day weekend and we got almost the whole crew together again and it was great. Weather was nice the whole weekend and we did a lot of our chilling outdoors. Also a lot of drinking went down during the five day weekend. Well, I didn't do so much drinking 'cos i'm also broke as fuck. This week I rode my bmx and also took some pics of my friend riding. More of that in our other blog. Summer seems to be on it's way.

Easter promises

It's been a while since my last update but thats just because I'm really lazy. I've taken lots of photos but it's a real pain in the ass to edit them with my shitty computer. Just loading the preview takes like 10 seconds per photo and when you have ~500 photos on your sd-card, it takes quite a while just to check them all on a slightly larger screen. And then you have to pick all the good ones and decide on the few which to post here. And they must be edited, resized and saved as a jpeg. So after I have like three finished photos I realize that it's five in the morning and I'm too tired to write anything and go to sleep. The next day I take a look what I've done last night, don't like it, check all the photos again, edit new ones, make slight modifications to the ones from last night and end up using the ones I made first anyway. And then I write this text here trying to be funny or witty or whatever and usually fail miserably, fuck up with the grammar stuff, or just get lazy and write some shit like "Here's teh pix, enjoi pls". Fuck, I don't even know if anyone reads this shit, so why bother? I guess I do this just to have something to do with my time and photos. Oh, and I do know I have atleast one dedicated reader, whoopdy-fuckin'-doo.
Well, enough with the ranting. I Spent my Easter holidays in Lapland and it was awesome. We had almost the whole gang together again and we hung out with a few beers and just had fun. And also my whole family were home together since last summer I think. Or maybe we were all home last christmas, don't remember. I did also a bit of snowboarding which was my second and probably the last time for this season.
So I guess now is the time I should be promising to update more frequently, but that seems like an awful lot of commitment and maybe even work, so I think I'll pass this time. Here's few of the photos from easter. Nothing special.

Today was bright and sunny so I went for a walk. Since I live in Oulu, it was also windy and cold. I had my camera with me, as I usually do, but I was having hard time finding anything worth shooting, as I also usually do. Anyways here is chimeneys and street art. Yesterday was st. Patrick's day so we went to st. Michaels and drank guinness. We got there just after five and the place was already packed with drunks sporting green hairdos and beards, drinking guinness and being generally drunk. Guinness was great as always but we didn't stay for long 'cause it was just so crowded.
I've also been disturbing my neighbours by blasting Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphys way too loud. Naturally.

Long time no update. I've been sick and busy with my shitty job, so my motivation with everything has been below zero lately. Last weekend was most fun i've had for a while, but this week has been shitty so far. I guess I'm just really tired with all this snow and cold and dark and I really miss summer. Thank god it's starting to be spring already. And also, it's great to get away from here for a while, as I'm going to Helsinki for the weekend.

This was one of those quiet and slow weekends again. A homeboy came to visit us here from Tampere and we mostly just hang out, watched movies, played playstation and stuff. Maybe that's why I shopped the shit out of these pics. Or maybe I did it because I installed new version of photoshop and just wanted to try it out a bit. Cultural architecture

Today I took photos of culturally significant buildings in Oulu. Mainly because I was going to library anyways and theatre is right next to it. And you can also see the church tower a little further away. So these three pictures were taken basically from the same spot. I saw these freaky paintings in the theatre window and that made me take out my camera. I don't know why these photos came out so blue, but I quite like it so I didn't do anything about it. Also, it was cold as balls outside again, so the dark blue sets the mood nicely.

So I've decided to write this blog in English from now on because I've heard that this Internet-thingy has become kinda global. It would be awesome if i'd get a few readers from outside of Finland and they'd be able to understand what i'm saying.

Well anyways, here's a picture of some optical phenomenon from last night. It was kinda cool when these light pillars rose from almost every light source outside. Made me think about Star Wars for some reason... It was just so damn cold that I only took few photos quickly from just behind my house.

Riston keikka oli hyvä, eikä tuo baari-ilta muutenkaan aivan kauhean tylsäksi käynyt. Illan aikana baarin tuli mm. useampi poliisipartio noutamaan tupakkakopissa asettaan esitellyttä miestä. Itse en kerennyt tätä myöhemmin ilmapistooliksi paljastunutta mutkaa näkemään, mutta kaverit olivat kehuneet oikein hienoksi. Seurasin tosin vierestä kun kaksi siviili- ja kolme haalaripukuista polliisia raahasivat herran ulkona odottavaan maijaan.

Joululoma oli ja meni ja sen aikana tuli taas autossa istuttua ihan riittävästi. Pari viikkoa vierähti Lapissa ehkä vähän turhankin nopeaa. Näin kaamoksen aikaan kennolle ei ihan hirveästi saanut valoa tallennettua, mutta tässä on nyt kumminkin muutama kuva Lapista ja pari tuoretta Oulusta.

Ulkona on tähän aikaan vuodesta jo niin pimeää että pystyy ottaan kuvia vain valoista. Joku olikin kiltisti pystyttäny tuonne torille ihan riittävän tehokkaan valonheittimen selvästi meikää varten. Sisälläkin on tullut leikittyä lähinnä studiovalaistuksen, eli parin pöytälampun, folion, leivinpaperin ja lakanan kanssa. Ehkäpä siihen on syynsä, että oikeat studiovalot ja muut tarvikkeet on kohtuu hintavia...

Hieno viikonloppu takana, just ja just selvittiin. Homma alko perjantaina burgereilla ja "parilla" oluella ja jatku Teatrialla elävän musiikin parissa. Lauantaina meno alko vasta illemmalla jostain kumman syystä... Vähän myöhemmin lähettiin taas Teatrialle, tällä kertaa kattomaan Dimebag Beyond Forever Touria.
